POSITIONFamily Consumer Science Instructor
GENERAL DESCRIPTIONThe Family Consumer Science Instructor is responsible for the delivery of quality education that adheres to required curriculum standards. Students will participate in the career technical student organization FCCLA.
LOCATION- Fairfield Freshman School – 1 position
- Grade 9
- Teaches Hospitality Fundamentals; topics include travel and tourism, culinary cuisines and cooking, kitchen safety and sanitation, and college and careers
- Lakota East Freshman School – 1 position
- Grade 9
- Teaches Culinary Fundamentals and College and Career Readiness
- Appropriate licensure/certification through the State Board of Education or ability to obtain proper licensure. Applicants must meet ONE OF THE FOLLOWING requirements to be considered for this position:
- Current ODE licensure in one of the following:
- VO Homemaking and Consumer Education (090104)
- VO/CT/CW Culinary Arts and Food Service Management (090203)
- CT Family and Consumer Science Education (090120)
- VO/CT/CW Family and Consumer Science Careers (090660)
- VO/CT/CW Hotels and Resorts (090205)
- OR Meets all three criteria below:
- Holds a bachelor's degree;
- Holds a valid Ohio Resident Educator, Professional, Permanent or Five-Year Career-Technical teaching license in any field;
- Passes (or has passed) the OAE content-knowledge test for Family Consumer Science (022) & AND
- Current ODE licensure in one of the following:
- Willingness/ability to work with students, teachers and administrators as a team member;
- Computer expertise appropriate to the position;
- Effective and demonstrated problem solving, critical thinking, analytical, oral and written communication, and organizational skills;
- Valid drivers' license, reliable transportation, and vehicle insurance;
- History of strong work record, including good job attendance; and
- Documented evidence of acceptable criminal record as required by Ohio law and Board Policy.
