Nutrition Services Associate – Secondary (6 hours/day) Job
Job Summary- 6 hours/day during school hours (6:45 a.m. – 12:45 p.m.).
- Locations:
Silver Bell Learning Center;
Black Hawk Middle School/Deerwood Elementary. - Must have reliable transportation between sites. Mileage between sites will be paid.
- Effective Date of Employment: ASAP.
- Final date to receive applications:
February 18, 2026 – 4:00 p.m.
- High school graduate or GED.
- Basic arithmetic, reading, and writing skills.
- Ability to safely lift up to 40 pounds, stand on a hard surface 3‑6 hours, bend, twist, and perform repetitive motions.
- Experience in institutional food service operations or school food service helpful.
- Complete Serve Safe course and pass exam with ≥70% accuracy within 1 year of hire.
- Point of sale experience preferred.
- Work independently, take initiative, and manage time efficiently.
- Experience working with a culturally, ethnically, racially, and socioeconomically diverse school community is preferred.
- Follow food service manager’s instructions on food production, preparation, and service.
- Comply with department standards for meal accounting (reimbursement and à la carte sales).
- Clean kitchen, serving areas, cafeteria, and dishroom as directed.
- Maintain safety standards in handling, preparing, storing, and serving food.
- Operate computerized point‑of‑sale equipment to process students through breakfast and lunch lines.
- Cooperate with other employees and work efficiently.
- Attend job‑related training classes and workshops.
- Interact positively and professionally with students.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Nutrition Services Associate: $20.23 – $22.74 per hour (based on 2025‑26 contract).
