Gateway to Technology Instructor is responsible for delivery of quality education that adheres to required curriculum standards. Students will participate in the career technical student organization Technology Student Association (TSA).
Qualifications- Appropriate licensure/certification through the Ohio State Board of Education or ability to obtain proper licensure. Applicants must meet ONE OF THE FOLLOWING requirements to be considered for this position:
- Current, standard SBOE teacher licensure that includes grades taught by the position
- Two or more years of verifiable and relevant industry experience, a bachelor's degree or higher in a science, mathematics, or engineering field, and willingness and ability to complete the alternative teacher licensure process
- Must successfully complete the Project Lead the Way (PLTW) teacher pre-assessment AND enroll in PLTW Training Institute if credential not already held (Butler Tech will provide information on registration and pay related costs)
- Willingness/ability to work with students, teachers and administrators as a team member
- Computer expertise appropriate to the position
- Effective and demonstrated problem solving, critical thinking, analytical, oral and written communication, and organizational skills
- State-issued identification card with photograph
- History of strong work record, including good job attendance
- Documented evidence of acceptable criminal record as required by Ohio law and Board Policy
