The School Psychologist advocates for the quality of learning and social experiences for all students. In addition to providing feedback on the learning environment and assisting in the development and actuation of a positive school climate, the school psychologist conducts screenings and evaluations to identify the academic, functional and social/emotional needs of students. School Psychologists work as part of the school student service team and support the development and implementation of a multi-tiered system of support framework (MTSS).
School psychological services shall be utilized to assist in the process of developing conditions for learning to optimize the development of all children. Emphasis shall be placed on prevention as well as rehabilitation through indirect or direct services. This position requires flexibility in assignments based on the needs of students in the district.
The following qualifications are preferred for the ideal candidate:
- Holds a Professional Educator's License from the Illinois State Board of Education in School Psychology.
- Master's Degree from a graduate school of psychology program meeting the state of Illinois academic and supervised practicum experience requirements.
- Bilingual endorsement in Spanish or Urdu preferred.
- Direct experience developing and implementing an MTSS framework in public schools is desirable.
- Fluency in both English, Spanish and/or Urdu is preferred for this position.
- Ability to travel between multiple school sites.
