We are seeking a dynamic instructor to work with high school students pursuing a Construction program. Hands‑on, lab‑based training and co‑op opportunities will allow students to launch a career in the construction field and connect them directly to employers and industry mentors.
Areas of Focus- Estimate, layout, cut, and install framing for walls, floors, roofs, and stairs
- Estimate, layout, cut, and install exterior finish materials
- Estimate, mix, place, and finish concrete
- Introduction to blueprint reading
- Power and hand tool safety
- Students will earn the OSHA 30‑Hour Construction Safety industry credential.
- Students will also participate in the career technical student organization Skills
USA.
- Minimum of five years related work experience.
- Must meet ONE OF THE FOLLOWING:
- Willingness & ability to complete Ohio’s alternative teacher licensure process AND high school diploma AND at least 5 years of relevant work experience.
- Current Ohio State Board of Education licensure in one of the following:
- Carpentry 171001
- Construction Management 171806
- Electrical Trades 171002
- Successful completion of a registered apprenticeship program preferred.
- Current National Center for Construction Education and Research (NCCER) Instructor certification or willing to obtain.
- Willingness/ability to work with students, teachers and administrators as a team member.
- Computer expertise appropriate to the position.
- Effective and demonstrated problem solving, critical thinking, analytical, oral and written communication, and organizational skills.
- Valid driver license, reliable transportation, and vehicle insurance.
- History of strong work record, including good job attendance.
- Documented evidence of acceptable criminal record as required by Ohio law and Board Policy.
- Salary: $52,819 – $110,180 (based on experience and education)
- Medical, dental, vision, and life insurance; tuition reimbursement.
185 days – 7.5 hours per day.
