General DescriptionWe are seeking a dynamic instructor to work with high school students pursuing an Electrical Technology program. Hands‑on, lab‑based training and co‑op opportunities will allow students to launch a career in the construction, manufacturing, and industrial maintenance fields and connect them directly to employers and industry mentors.
Curriculum will include one year of the ALLIANCE electrical training curriculum, recognized with IBEW. Students may earn industry credentials including NCCER Core, NCCER Electrical Level I, and OSHA 10‑Hour Construction Safety.
Students will also participate in the career technical student organization Skills
USA.
- Minimum of five years related work experience as a Journeyman
- Must meet ONE OF THE FOLLOWING:
- Willingness & ability to complete Ohio's alternative teacher licensure process AND high school diploma AND at least 5 years of relevant work experience
- Current Ohio State Board of Education licensure in one of the following:
- Electrical Trades 171002
- Power Transmission 171402
- Successful completion of a registered apprenticeship program (IBEW, IEC, or equivalent)
- Current and valid Ohio Construction Industry Licensing Board (OCILB) Electrical Contractor License preferred
- Knowledgeable of current National Electrical Codes
- Current NCCER Instructor certification or willing to obtain
- Graduate of the National Training Institute is a plus
- Willingness/ability to work with students, teachers, and administrators as a team member
- Computer expertise appropriate to the position
- Effective and demonstrated problem solving, critical thinking, analytical, oral and written communication, and organizational skills
- Valid driver license, reliable transportation, and vehicle insurance
- History of strong work record, including good job attendance
- Documented evidence of acceptable criminal record as required by Ohio law and Board Policy
