Intervention Specialist - Butler County

Monday-Friday | 7:30 AM - 3:30 PM
$5,000 Sign-On Bonus for Licensed Intervention Specialists

Best Point Education & Behavioral Health is seeking Intervention Specialists living in or near Butler County to join our Butler County campus for the School Year, serving local students and families in our Butler County communities.

Job Summary

The Intervention Specialist provides individualized academic instruction to students in a classroom setting while ensuring lesson plans align with Ohio Department of Education content standards. This role plays a key part in developing and implementing Individualized Education Plans (IEPs), monitoring student progress, and adjusting instructional and behavioral interventions using data.

Intervention Specialists collaborate closely with Butler County families, school staff, and multidisciplinary teams to support student growth, academic success, and compliance with state and program standards.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree required (degree in Special Education highly preferred)
  • Valid Ohio teaching license required (Intervention Specialist license highly preferred)
  • Experience working with students with behavioral and mental health challenges preferred
  • Valid driver's license required
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Windows and Microsoft Office applications
Key Responsibilities

- Classroom Instruction & Lesson Planning
  • Provide individualized academic instruction to students in a classroom setting
  • Develop and align lesson plans with Ohio Department of Education content standards
  • Deliver engaging, differentiated instruction to meet diverse student needs
  • Maintain student work portfolios aligned with program requirements
- IEP Development & Progress Monitoring
  • Participate in the development of IEPs and strategy sheets
  • Implement IEPs as written and track student progress toward goals
  • Use academic and behavioral data to adjust interventions
  • Complete IEP progress reports and grading for report cards
- Documentation & Administrative Responsibilities
  • Complete required documentation, including lesson plans, incident reports, and restraint reports
  • Administer educational testing and assessments
  • Maintain accurate records and ensure compliance with Ohio state operating standards
- Collaboration & Communication
  • Communicate weekly with parents and guardians regarding student progress
  • Partner with internal teams and external stakeholders to support student success
  • Collaborate across programs to share resources and best practices
  • Actively participate in daily debriefings, student meetings, and staff meetings
- Student Support & Role Modeling
  • Promote age-appropriate social skills, self-care, emotional regulation, and problem-solving
  • Serve as a positive role model for students at all times
  • Support both academic growth and behavioral development
- Quality Assurance & Compliance
  • Ensure instruction complies with Ohio Department of Education standards
  • Use data to guide instructional decisions
  • Participate in revisions to treatment plans and IEPs to maximize student outcomes
Work Schedule, Pay & Benefits
  • 10-month school-year schedule, paid across 12 months (June & July off)
  • Licensed Intervention Specialist (Bachelor's Level): Starting at $46,500, with increases based on experience
  • Licensed Intervention Specialist (Master's Level): Starting at $50,650, with increases based on experience
