Position Summary

Ross Middle School is seeking a dedicated and student-centered Intervention Specialist to provide specialized instruction and support for students with disabilities in grades 5-8. The successful candidate will collaborate with general education teachers, families, and support staff to ensure students receive appropriate services, accommodations, and interventions that promote academic growth and independence.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

* Develop, implement, and monitor Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) in accordance with federal and state regulations.

* Provide direct instruction in resource room, inclusion, and/or co-teaching settings.

* Collaborate with general education teachers to modify curriculum, implement accommodations, and support student success.

* Collect and analyze student data to monitor progress toward IEP goals.

* Conduct progress monitoring and prepare progress reports as required.

* Participate in Evaluation Team Report (ETR) meetings, IEP meetings, and other special education meetings.

* Maintain accurate and confidential student records.

* Communicate regularly with parents and guardians regarding student progress and needs.

* Implement behavior intervention plans and support positive behavioral strategies when needed.

* Work collaboratively with school psychologists, speech-language pathologists, occupational therapists, counselors, and other related service providers.

* Utilize technology and evidence-based instructional practices to support diverse learners.

* Participate in professional development and district initiatives.

Qualifications

* Valid Ohio Intervention Specialist License.

* Knowledge of special education laws, procedures, and compliance requirements.

* Strong communication, organizational, and collaboration skills.

* Ability to establish positive relationships with students, families, and colleagues.

* Experience working with middle school students preferred.

* Knowledge of differentiated instruction, progress monitoring, and data-driven decision making.
