SALARY: $68,000 - $80,000 based on education and experience
WORK YEAR:
Full Time - 230 days, 1-year contract with the potential for permanent hire

GENERAL DESCRIPTION:
The Director of Early Childhood Programs shall assume leadership and responsibility for all activities involved in the operation, control, appraisal, and continued development of programs and personnel. They collaborate with outside partners, state advocacy, build program capacity, write grants and provide budget oversight. They work to ensure alignment within internal teams to streamline services to the community. They have an active role on the ESC Leadership Team and provide vision, motivation, and leadership to all employees, families, and volunteers.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Minimum of a Bachelor's Degree in education, social work or related field required.
- At least 7-10 years of Home Visiting experience.
- At least 2 years of supervisory and program oversight experience is required.
- Experience in developing new programs, grant writing, program administration and evaluation preferred.
- Knowledge of and successful experience in budget development and management preferred.
- Demonstrated leadership ability.
- Able to use a variety of communication methods to build relationships.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Able to use technology to effectively manage data and information.
- History of good job attendance.
- Valid Ohio driver's license with good driving record; daily access to a private insured vehicle during work hours.
- Must pass criminal background checks, drug and alcohol tests, and be free from communicable diseases.
- Provide effective leadership and oversight for all Early Childhood programs including development, implementation, operations and growth.
- Collaborate with staff, community partners, and volunteers to build a high-quality Early Childhood programs for all children and families.
- Develop an integrated, streamlined approach for access to a wide range of services that eliminates duplication.
- To administer all program functions including budgeting, quarterly reports, accountability to the Governing Board and ongoing progress reporting to the
- Department of Children and Youth or other partners.
- Provide effective leadership for strategic planning within the ESC as it relates to Early Childhood programming.
- Develop effective management systems that support programs and services, in accordance with Home Visiting Standards, Ohio Department of Children and
- Youth and are aligned with organizational philosophy, mission, and values.
- Oversee the development and implementation of program goals, strategic plans, priorities, and procedures that support the long-term sustainability of the programs.
- Develop, implement and oversee the annual grant and budget of the programs; ensure the programs operate within the budget allocation and in accordance with all fiscal policies, licensure requirements, and agency policies. Assure compliance with all local, state and federal guidelines.
- Represent Early Childhood Programs and the ESC in general in local and state organizations as a conduit for input and information.
- Serve as an effective advocate for staff, families, and children.
- Develop and maintain effective, cooperative relationships with community and agency personnel.
- Attend and actively participate in meetings and functions in and out of the office and serve as the Early Childhood Programs representative at agency, local community, state and federal level.
- Lead Early Childhood Programs management meetings.
- Implement a system for appraisal of programs content;
Annual Self-Assessments - Ensure that all staff are effectively supervised and evaluated according to agency policies and procedures; supervise and evaluate leadership team and other staff, as assigned.
- To perform other duties consistent with the position as assigned.
- To serve as a role model for students in how to conduct themselves as citizens and as responsible, intelligent human beings.
- To help instill in the students the belief in and practice of ethical principles and democratic values.
