Job Description Summary
The Coordinator of Student Engagement supports a comprehensive student engagement experience through student organizations, leadership development, community service, and orientation programming. This role advances student success by integrating co-curricular involvement with academic pathways, retention strategies, and career outcomes to prepare students for post-graduate success.
Essential Duties- Oversee student organization recognition, finances, compliance, and support for recruitment, programming, and assessment.
- Develop and implement student leadership programs and training for student leaders and organization advisors.
- Coordinate community service and civic engagement opportunities with campus and community partners.
- Plan and execute campus-wide programs (e.g., Welcome Weeks, Fall Fest, Get Involved Fair, Transfer Student Week).
- Advise student programming boards and support student-led events.
- Promote involvement opportunities through outreach, communications, and social media.
- Collaborate on student orientation programs, including advising and transition support.
- Collect, analyze, and report data on student engagement, retention, and program outcomes; use insights to continuously improve programming and demonstrate impact on persistence and graduation rates.
- Bachelor’s degree required upon appointment.
- Experience in event programming/coordination, and/or community service programming/coordination, and/or orientation programming/coordination.
- Master’s degree; higher education administration, college student personnel, or related field.
- Experience applying student development theory or best practices to program design and student support.
- Demonstrated ability to foster student learning, growth, and engagement through co-curricular experiences.
- Strong collaboration and relationship-building skills with students and campus and community stakeholders.
- Experience with program assessment and using data to inform decision-making.
- Familiarity with marketing and project-management tools (e.g., Campus Groups, Emma, Canvas, Canva, SLATE, Google Suite).
- Criminal background check required.
