Job Description Summary

The Coordinator of Student Engagement supports a comprehensive student engagement experience through student organizations, leadership development, community service, and orientation programming. This role advances student success by integrating co-curricular involvement with academic pathways, retention strategies, and career outcomes to prepare students for post-graduate success.

Essential Duties
  • Oversee student organization recognition, finances, compliance, and support for recruitment, programming, and assessment.
  • Develop and implement student leadership programs and training for student leaders and organization advisors.
  • Coordinate community service and civic engagement opportunities with campus and community partners.
  • Plan and execute campus-wide programs (e.g., Welcome Weeks, Fall Fest, Get Involved Fair, Transfer Student Week).
  • Advise student programming boards and support student-led events.
  • Promote involvement opportunities through outreach, communications, and social media.
  • Collaborate on student orientation programs, including advising and transition support.
  • Collect, analyze, and report data on student engagement, retention, and program outcomes; use insights to continuously improve programming and demonstrate impact on persistence and graduation rates.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree required upon appointment.
  • Experience in event programming/coordination, and/or community service programming/coordination, and/or orientation programming/coordination.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master’s degree; higher education administration, college student personnel, or related field.
  • Experience applying student development theory or best practices to program design and student support.
  • Demonstrated ability to foster student learning, growth, and engagement through co-curricular experiences.
  • Strong collaboration and relationship-building skills with students and campus and community stakeholders.
  • Experience with program assessment and using data to inform decision-making.
  • Familiarity with marketing and project-management tools (e.g., Campus Groups, Emma, Canvas, Canva, SLATE, Google Suite).
