Position: Teacher – Head Start

Starting Date: August 2026

Salary: $32,266 – $46,483 based on education

Work Year: Full Time – 184 Days

General Description: The Teacher will plan and implement learning experiences that advance the intellectual and physical development of children, including improving school readiness by developing literacy, phonemic, print, and numeracy awareness, language use, vocabulary, book appreciation, early math and science understanding, problem‑solving abilities, and learning strategies. The Teacher will maintain health and safety, provide active supervision at all times, establish a safe learning environment, support social and emotional development, encourage family involvement, and foster relationships between children and their families.

• Hold an associate, baccalaureate or advanced degree in early childhood education; OR an associate degree related to early childhood education with coursework equivalent to a major, and experience teaching preschool‑age children; OR a baccalaureate or advanced degree in any field with coursework equivalent to a major related to early childhood education, and experience teaching preschool‑age children.
• Supervised classroom experience with preschool children preferred.
• Knowledgeable of Early Childhood curriculum and developmentally appropriate practices.
• Classroom management/supervision skills.
• Willingness and ability to work as a team member.
• Good organizational skills.
• History of good job attendance.
• Must pass a criminal background check, be free from communicable disease, and provide a Medical Statement prior to the first day of employment.
