Job Description
Ross Local School District is seeking a qualified applicant for a Special Education Paraprofessional position at Morgan Elementary School for the school year. This position provides instructional, behavioral, and personal support to students with disabilities in a collaborative and inclusive educational environment.
Start Date: August 2026, with multiple mandatory meetings prior to the first day.
Qualifications- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Must possess or be eligible to obtain an Ohio Educational Aide Permit.
- Experience working with children, particularly students with disabilities, preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with teachers, staff, students, and families.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound judgment.
- CPI, de‑escalation, or behavior management training preferred (or willingness to obtain).
- Assist the Intervention Specialist in implementing instructional activities, accommodations, and modifications as outlined in students’ Individualized Education Programs (IEPs).
- Provide academic, behavioral, and social‑emotional support to individual students and small groups.
- Support students in inclusive and special education settings throughout the school day.
- Assist with classroom management and maintaining a positive learning environment.
- Provide supervision during lunch, recess, transitions, and other school activities as assigned.
- Assist students with personal care needs, including toileting, hygiene, feeding, and mobility assistance, when required.
- Collect and maintain student data to support progress monitoring.
- Prepare instructional materials and assist with classroom organization.
- Participate in staff meetings, professional development, and required trainings.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the building principal or supervising Intervention Specialist.
- Ability to lift, carry, or assist students and materials up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, and move throughout the school day.
- Ability to respond appropriately in emergency situations.
