MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
  • Education Level: Master's Degree required.
  • Certification/Licenses:
    Valid Georgia teaching certificate (SLP SRS5); valid Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) in speech-language pathology issued by the ASHA.
  • Routine physical activities that are required to fulfill job responsibilities.
  • Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:
    Written and oral communication, planning, organization.
  • REPORTS TO

    Principal

    PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Demonstrate prompt and regular attendance.
  • Evaluate communication skills of students referred and diagnose speech and/or language disorders.
  • Assure placement of students in the speech-language program and develop and implement speech-language goals/objectives on individualized education plans according to established due process procedures.
  • Conduct and/or participate in IEP meetings.
  • Schedule students appropriately.
  • Provide consultative services to teachers, parents, administrators, and allied agencies in order to integrate speech-language goals into the classroom, other educational programs, and the home environment.
  • Report and maintain student data to assess progress and continuation or termination of services.
  • Comply with State and District regulations regarding due process paperwork and Medicaid documentation.
  • Refer to other agencies and/or personnel when appropriate.
  • Investigate and use new strategies for delivering student services.
  • Participate in professional learning opportunities provided.
  • Participate with school administrators/coordinators for effective planning, coordination, and implementation of speech-language program into total educational system.
  • Participate in MTSS process at local school level as needed.
  • Report information required for local, state, and federal programs.
  • Maintain special education records for speech-language students at local school.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by appropriate administrator.
  • TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT

    190 day position. Salary based on Board approved certified teacher pay schedule.

    EVALUATION

    Performance of this job will be evaluated annually by the Principal or designee.
