About the Role

You will provide immediate emotional support, crisis intervention, and suicide prevention assistance to individuals calling the 988 Crisis Hotline, ensuring compassionate and professional service 24/7.

Shift Schedules
  • 2nd shift: 4:00 pm – 12:00 am
  • 3rd shift: 12:00 am – 8:00 am
Duties and Responsibilities
  • Answer calls from individuals in crisis in a compassionate, professional, and nonjudgmental manner.
  • Establish rapport with callers and assist them in handling the presenting concern.
  • Provide emotional support, crisis de‑escalation, and suicide prevention interventions following best practices.
  • Conduct risk assessments for self‑harm, suicide, or harm to others and determine the appropriate level of intervention.
  • Utilize suicide prevention protocols and safety planning strategies when necessary.
  • Provide referrals and resources for mental health services, community‑based organizations, and emergency assistance.
  • Document all interactions accurately and timely per agency guidelines.
  • Collaborate with emergency responders and mental health professionals when higher level intervention is required.
  • Maintain current knowledge of community resources to aid callers in providing appropriate linkage to needed services and supports.
Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Ability to remain calm, professional, and supportive under pressure.
  • Experience in the mental health field is preferred, but not required (on‑the‑job training provided).
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team‑oriented environment.
  • Competently communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
  • Basic computer skills for documentation and online communication tools.
  • Proficient with Microsoft 365 applications, including Office Suite, Outlook, and Teams.
  • Ability to pass background checks, drug screening, and required training.
  • Reliable transportation.
  • Ability to work evenings, overnights, and weekends.
