Job OverviewUnder the direction of the Radiologist and the supervision of the manager or supervisor, radiologic technologist performs radiographic procedures to assist in the diagnosis of disease and injuries. Technologists are trained in multifaceted services such as Fluoroscopy, OR, ERCP, Digital Radiography, Portable x‑ray equipment, Dexa Scans, etc. and demonstrate competencies annually. This position provides maximum benefit to the patient by producing quality images with the lowest possible radiation exposure to the patient.
The position is responsible for performing quality radiographic procedures as prescribed by a physician and in accordance with department policies and procedures, working effectively with patients and families to provide patient care, maintaining a cooperative relationship with interdepartmental team members, complying with infection prevention procedures, maintaining accurate records, radiation safety, student education, orientation of new employees, quality assurance, care of equipment, and other duties as assigned.
The position is required to meet the minimum continuing educational requirements established by the state of Ohio and is required to maintain ARRT and ODH licensure.
- Associate's Degree in Allied Health
- Graduate of an approved technical, professional, or vocational program
- American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT)
- BLS/CPR (Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers)
- Radiologic Technologist, AART state license
- Fluoroscopy, C‑arm, OR, ERCP, Trauma, Digital Radiography, Portable X‑ray equipment, Radiation Safety
- Provides patient, family, and staff comfort and care prior to, during, and after a procedure and recognizes and responds appropriately to emergent situations.
- Maintains accurate records through the completion of all paperwork before submission.
- Demonstrates the ability to consistently produce and evaluate quality diagnostic exams for radiologic interpretation.
- Demonstrates organizational and communication skills to promote the well‑being of the department and maintains a cooperative relationship with interdepartmental team members.
- Demonstrates ongoing CBE's and knowledge of equipment and its operating procedures through CBE's. Selects proper imaging protocols and follows departmental procedures. Performs competency evaluations of technical personnel.
