Senior Procurement Manager, North America (OE & Aftermarket) Position SummaryThe Senior Manager, Procurement North America (OE & Aftermarket) is responsible for leading all procurement activities for Business Unit BM across North America, including the United States and Mexico. This position provides strategic and operational leadership for sourcing, supplier management, cost optimization, procurement performance, and supply chain risk management supporting both Original Equipment (OE) and Aftermarket business operations.
The role is accountable for developing and executing procurement strategies aligned with regional and global business objectives while ensuring achievement of material cost targets, supplier performance expectations, budget commitments, and program deliverables. The Senior Manager serves as a key member of the regional leadership team and works closely with Engineering, Operations, Quality, Sales, Program Management, Finance, and Global Commodity Management to drive business growth, profitability, and operational excellence.
This position leads procurement teams throughout North America and is responsible for building a high-performing organization capable of supporting current and future business requirements.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Lead all procurement activities for Business Unit BM within North America, including the United States and Mexico.
- Develop and implement procurement strategies that support business objectives, customer requirements, and market competitiveness.
- Ensure achievement of annual material cost reduction targets, savings initiatives, and procurement performance objectives.
- Drive procurement support for customer acquisition activities through competitive sourcing strategies and market intelligence.
- Manage regional supplier relationships to ensure performance expectations related to quality, delivery, cost, innovation, and service are achieved.
- Establish and maintain strategic supplier partnerships that support long-term business objectives.
- Lead supplier selection, sourcing decisions, contract negotiations, and commercial agreements.
- Collaborate with Global and Regional Commodity Management teams to ensure alignment of sourcing strategies and supplier selection decisions.
- Ensure procurement involvement throughout the product lifecycle, from acquisition and development through end-of-production.
- Support Value Analysis/Value Engineering (VA/VE) initiatives and cost optimization programs.
- Conduct market analysis to identify cost trends, supply risks, emerging technologies, and sourcing opportunities.
- Ensure supply chain continuity through effective supplier capacity planning, risk mitigation, and business continuity planning.
- Support supplier qualification, development, and performance improvement initiatives.
- Manage procurement-related change management activities and engineering changes.
- Support claims, commercial dispute resolution, and supplier performance management activities.
- Ensure compliance with company procurement policies, procedures, ethical sourcing standards, and delegated authority requirements.
- Develop and implement corrective action plans to address procurement, supplier, and supply chain performance gaps.
- Prepare and present procurement performance metrics, cost savings achievements, and market intelligence to regional and global leadership teams.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives that improve procurement effectiveness, efficiency, and organizational capability.
- Provide leadership, direction, coaching, and development for procurement teams throughout North America.
- Build and maintain a high-performance culture focused on accountability, collaboration, innovation, and results.
- Develop succession plans and talent development strategies to strengthen organizational capability.
- Lead cross-functional teams supporting sourcing decisions, supplier development initiatives, and program launches.
