Essential Functions

• Assure employees' performances meet established department expectations through the on-going monitoring and oversight of the supervisors' required tracking.

• Evaluate job performances to recognize exemplary work as well as to identify trends and patterns in areas of deficiency and take corrective action in a timely manner.

• Oversee the work of assigned Service and Support Administration (SSA) Supervisors; manage the operation of assigned SSA teams; monitor, evaluate, and ensure quality of services for individuals served.

• Provide oversight (e.g. schedules, coordinates, and assigns/sets work priorities), technical assistance, staff development, and support to SSA Supervisors.

• Under the direction of the Community Services Director, ensures the successful implementation of practices and procedures to comply with state rules related to service and support administration, targeted case management and Medicaid Waivers administered by the agency; monitor to ensure practices are carried out as directed by SSAs and SSA Supervisors; identifies trends, looks for opportunities for quality improvement within the SSA system and works with SSA Director to address and implement needed changes;

demonstrates a sense of teamwork and cooperation.

• Makes recommendations for the hiring of department staff. Trains staff and evaluates performance expectations for all direct reports. Provides timely constructive communication to employees and recognizes outstanding efforts; takes corrective actions following the Discipline Without Punishment (DWP) Model when needed.

• Supports the development and implementation of the state's identified Employment First Initiative and assistive technology initiatives throughout Butler County.

• At the discretion of the Community Services Director, carries out specific administrative functions associated with Medicaid Waivers (e.g., Prior Authorizations, Administrative Appeals).

• Works with Quality Assurance Manager to address and correct identified trends and patterns.

• May participate in various committees within the agency or as a representative of the Board with community partners and other stakeholders linked to the coordination of services.

• Works with the Data Management Coordinator to develop programs and databases needed within the SSA department.

• Attend meetings, training seminars/conferences to develop knowledge of current Medicaid and DODD rule requirements as well as best practice standards.

• Understanding of the impact of trauma on an individual's choices and application of principles that guide a Trauma Responsive agency.

• Acts as an Administrative level of support for the assigned emergency on-call personnel as needed.

Bachelors or better in Human Services or related field.
