Shift - 2nd (Monday-Friday, 3PM-11:15PM, with overtime as needed on weekends)
Pay rate - $18.25/hour + $1.00/hour shift differential on shift
SummaryThe Receiving Clerk is responsible for accurately processing incoming shipments and materials, ensuring proper documentation, quality inspection, and storage in accordance with company procedures. This role also involves operating material handling equipment and maintaining accurate inventory records while adhering to safety and operational standards.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Maintains a safe working environment by complying with all safety and environmental policies in the workplace. Advocates for and promotes a safe work environment by reporting Near Misses and/or other safety and environmental hazards, wearing all required PPE and encouraging others to do the same.
- Operate and navigate various Material Handling Equipment (MHE), including Dock Stocker, Reach Truck, and scissor lift, ensuring safe and efficient material movement.
- Ensure receipt of all shipments and materials, verifying accuracy and quality of goods received using prescribed criteria.
- Complete all paperwork related to shipments and receipts, ensuring that all required documentation is present, and counts are accurate.
- Process receiving transactions in SAP, including returns, receipts, and due lists, while ensuring all material is accurately documented and inventory levels are updated.
- Operate RF scanners for inventory transactions and to process goods efficiently into the system.
- Inspect and verify the quality and quantity of received goods to ensure they match the packing slip and SAP information.
- Properly store materials or prepare shipments according to established procedures.
- Ensure all labels on containers match material descriptions, verifying them against the packing slip and SAP.
- Assist with loading and unloading trucks, ensuring trailer wheels are checked and safe before loading.
- Ensure that the Bill of Lading (BOL) matches the freight being delivered and notate any damage on the BOL/Delivery Receipt.
- Take the unloaded freight to storage and process for future use or shipment.
- Meet all expectations for a BLC Operator I, including operational productivity and maintaining accuracy in receiving and shipment activities.
- Monitor open transfer orders and resolve issues in alignment with goals and High-Performance Work Standard (HPWS) Level standards.
- Use Appointment Plus for scheduling transportation as needed.
- Complete TO generation, put-away tasks, and loading/unloading activities in alignment with expected productivity percentages.
- Maintain Receiving Exception Logs and error logs as required to track and address issues.
- Conduct and document daily Material Handling Equipment (MHE) Inspections to ensure safe operation and report any concerns promptly.
- Complete 100% of required monthly safety training on time, applying learned principles to daily work.
- Adhering to the work schedule as assigned, including arriving to work and being ready to work by shift start time, to ensure operational needs to the business are met. Flexible to work overtime when needed, including occasional Saturdays and Sundays.
- Foster a positive work environment by demonstrating motivation, teamwork, and collaboration with colleagues.
- Performs all other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
- Previous basic forklift experience with ability to obtain a license and operate various forklifts (order filler, stand-up reach, scissor lift) preferred.
- Possesses a stable work history and a strong personal desire to work safely and maintain a safe working environment.
- Demonstrates a strong customer focus along with a great work ethic and willingness to do what needs to be done.
- Demonstrated knowledge of basic math, including working with decimals, and strong mechanical aptitude.
- Possesses a logical method of problem solving and willingness to learn and improve one’s skills.
- Demonstrates a strong commitment to meet and exceed customer requirements at all times.
- Must be able to work required overtime that can be substantial during peak customer production periods.
