Position: VPS/Process Co-Op (Fall 2026)

VPS Trainee/Apprentice/VIE

Valeo North America is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented VPS/Process Co-Op for Fall 2026 to support the optimization and implementation of production processes within our manufacturing environment. This role provides an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience in lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement initiatives.

Job Responsibilities

  • Assist in the analysis of current manufacturing processes to identify areas for improvement in efficiency, quality, and cost.
  • Support the implementation of Valeo Production System (VPS) tools and methodologies, including but not limited to 5S, Standardized Work, SMED, and Value Stream Mapping.
  • Participate in cross-functional teams to develop and implement process improvements.
  • Collect and analyze production data to monitor process performance and identify trends.
  • Create and update process documentation, work instructions, and training materials.
  • Support root cause analysis of production issues and assist in developing corrective actions.
  • Contribute to projects aimed at reducing waste and improving overall operational effectiveness.
  • Present findings and recommendations to team members and management.

Job Qualifications

  • Currently enrolled in a Bachelor's degree program in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Operations Management, or a related technical field.
  • Must be available for a full-time co-op position in Fall 2026.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Basic understanding of lean manufacturing principles is a plus.
  • Prior experience in a manufacturing environment or relevant project work is a plus.
