We are seeking a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner to join our outpatient mental health and substance use disorder treatment team. In this role, you will be an integral member of a multidisciplinary team, providing psychiatric evaluations, medication management, and MAT services in collaboration with a staff psychiatrist. This is primarily an office-based position, with the potential for up to one remote telehealth day per week once caseload and workflow support that flexibility.
This is not a siloed role. As our PMHNP, you will actively engage in diagnostic assessments, medication oversight, recovery-focused care, and client education, helping individuals with mental health and co-occurring substance use disorders stabilize and move forward.

Starting at $60/hr, based on years of experience

: PRN, 8-16 hours per week

- You are a Master’s-level, board-certified Nurse Practitioner with active, unrestricted NP licensure.

Focus:
Psychiatric-Mental Health - You bring experience or strong interest in serving individuals with mental health and substance use disorders, including dual-diagnosis populations.
- You are comfortable providing medication management and MAT services, including Suboxone and Vivitrol, and are willing to work with Ambulatory Detox programs.
- You are open to providing telehealth services as part of your practice when caseload supports it.
- You demonstrate strong skills in assessment, diagnosis, documentation, crisis management, and time management.
- You collaborate effectively with psychiatrists and interdisciplinary teams while maintaining high standards of care and compliance.
- Provide med-somatic services to clients
- Assist in the evaluation of clients symptoms to justify diagnosis
- Evaluation of client’s mental status
- Provide MAT services such as Suboxene and Vivitrol
- Willingness to work with Ambulatory Detox program
- Must be able and willing to provide telehealth services
- Adhere to agency guidelines regarding productivity expectations and documentation standards
- Review and sign treatment plans
- Provide educational material to clients, family members, and staff
- Conduct comprehensive assessments of psychiatric history
- Collaborate with psychiatrist in the development, revision, maintenance and supervision of psychopharmacologic medication and treatment, medication policies and procedures including transcribing , administering, evaluating and recording psychotropic medication prescribed
- Communicate and consult with attending psychiatrist
- Completes documentation in accordance with agency standards
- Submit written reports and oral testimony and presentation of opinion in commitment and other legal proceedings when requested.
- Performs other related duties as assigned and appropriate for the position.
Education/
Certifications:
Master level board certified Mental Health Nurse Practitioner with prescription writing privileges.
Experience: Minimum 1 year experience providing psychiatric services in a community health setting, experience can include clinical rotation. Preferred experience serving clients with mental health and SUD disorders, including clients with dual diagnosis.
Specialized knowledge, skills, or abilities: This role requires that there are demonstrated skills in problems solving, decision-making, managing conflict, and follow through. Excellent oral and written communication skills, excellent documentation skills, excellent time management skills, ability to be self-directed, ability to meet outcomes as established for program or unit, excellent crisis management skills, ability to work within department budget, basic computer and keyboard knowledge in a network environment, and training skills.
