Position Overview

The Quality Technician Lead will examine products for defects or deviations from specifications and help oversee it for the shift. This role includes leading the team in evaluating and assessing processes that impact label quality, ensuring that all procedures meet company standards and customer expectations throughout the shift.

Pay: $25.00-$27.00/hour

Essential Functions And Responsibilities
  • Ability to complete all tasks per Quality Tech Level 1 and 2
  • Ability to be trained and retain knowledge on multiple quality control devices
  • Assist manager in leading quality expectations
  • Participate and lead departmental data and projects as assigned
  • Participate in and lead (if needed) Quality Review Meetings
  • Perform Internal Audits on processes
  • Fully participate in problem solving and CAPA responses
  • Process customer return and response
  • Develop and lead basic training for press operators – sign off procedures, identifying bad die cut, etc.
  • Write Work Instructions and SOPs for manager review
  • Bring formal quality training or ASQ certifications into process improvement or relative experience
  • Provide direction to quality techs 1 & 2 as needed
  • Train new hires and/or assess new hire training if another tech is training
Requirements
  • Keen eye for color – ability to distinguish between minimal color variances.
  • Highly focused on detail is essential.
  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions. Ability to read, interpret and create simple correspondence and memos.
  • Moderate work experience using a computer including data entry and Microsoft office programs including Word and Excel.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to read a ruler.
  • Ability to manage multiple, on-going, and high priority assignments at the same time.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Work flexibility – willingness to cover other team members during vacation/other time off as needed, willingness to work OT as needed.
Education And Experience
  • High School diploma or equivalent. May include specialized classes beyond high school.
  • Minimum of 2 years' experience in printing preferred.
  • Minimum of 2 years' experience in a quality role.
Physical Requirements & Environmental Conditions
  • Frequent exposure to manufacturing environment with one or more unpleasant or hazardous conditions including but not limited to exposure to dust, dirt, high noise levels, chemicals, etc. 51% to 80% of work time
  • Incumbent constantly required to hear, speak, articulate and use manual dexterity.
  • Incumbent regularly required to stand, walk, use color vision, grasp, reach and sit for prolonged periods of time.
  • Incumbent occasionally required to lift up to 50 lbs.

Must be eligible to work in the United States without restriction.
