Responsibilities

  • Efficiently perform standard alterations – including but not limited to pant hems, waist and seat adjustments, rise and tapering modifications, coat sleeves, side seams, and lower collar adjustments – in alignment with company guidelines.
  • Maintain an average of 60 minutes of productive alteration work per working hour, allowing for appropriate rest and meal periods and time for non‑tailoring tasks as needed.
  • Ensure all garments meet high‑quality standards, including clean finishes, secure stitching, even seams, and removal of loose threads and pins.
  • Press garments to ensure a clean crisp finish.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient workspace; ensure all tools and materials are properly stored and well‑maintained.
  • Demonstrate proficiency with all tailor shop equipment.
  • Ensure completed work is accurately tagged, organized, and ready for customer pickup.
  • Assist with inventory management by monitoring tailoring supplies and requesting replenishment from management as needed.
  • Support front‑of‑house activities as needed, such as cleaning, restocking merchandise, or assisting customers.
  • Participate in customer consultations at the direction of management, offering guidance and recommendations on alterations and garment fit.
  • Deliver an exceptional customer experience by listening to customer needs and offering personalized solutions.
Qualifications
  • Ability to operate small tools and equipment (needles, scissors, sewing machines, and presses) with precision.
  • Ability to understand, follow, and execute detailed instructions.
  • Ability to sit and stand for extended periods of time.
  • Strong attention to detail to ensure all garments meet quality standards.
  • Excellent time‑management skills to complete each alteration efficiently within designated time frames.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and professionally.
  • Ability to read, count, and write to complete required documentation accurately.
  • Physically able to bend, squat, lift arms overhead, and use ladders to access merchandise and supplies stored above shoulder level.
  • Ability to work at least 20 hours per week when needed, including any days and hours the store is in operation.
