Heavy Equipment Mechanic, Maintenance Technician / Mechanic, Diesel Mechanic
Reports to:
Shop foreman
Description: Maintenance and repair of all fleet trucks, trailers, and farm equipment, perform preventative maintenance, diagnose issues and repairs, maintain equipment for safe operation
Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Projects a positive attitude to customers and employees at all times.
- Provides outstanding and courteous customer service.
- Maintains customer’s positive impression of the facility and its employees.
- Continuously follows the safety guidelines and safety programs established by Brubaker Grain.
- Works on equipment as directed by Shop Foreman.
- Maintains repair logs and shop inventory as needed.
- Ensures that all trucks meet state and federal regulations when performing repairs or maintenance.
- Works closely with other shop employees to do corrective and preventative maintenance.
- Keeps shop area clean and free of debris.
- Other duties as assigned.
Education and/or Experience
Previous experience preferred but not required
Language SkillsAbility to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively to customers or employees of organization.
Reasoning AbilityAbility to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
Computer SkillsTo perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of or an aptitude for learning various diagnostic and/or maintenance software packages
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations- Valid Driver’s license
- Class A CDL preferred
- Diesel maintenance experience preferred
- Standing, walking and climbing
- Lifting up to 50 pounds
- Use of arms and hands
- Ability to hear and see
- Kneeling, crouching or crawling
