Ross Local School District is seeking a qualified and motivated individual to serve as the Varsity Boys Head Soccer Coach at Ross High School. The Head Coach is responsible for leading and managing all aspects of the varsity boys soccer program, while promoting academic achievement, sportsmanship, and the overall development of student-athletes in alignment with district values and OHSAA regulations.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
* Plan, organize, and conduct effective practices and training sessions.
* Lead and supervise all varsity boys' soccer competitions.
* Develop and maintain a positive and safe team culture.
* Promote academic success, sportsmanship, and character development among student-athletes.
* Coordinate and collaborate with the Athletic Director, school administration, and other coaching staff.
* Support and help develop the overall boys soccer program, including cooperation with middle school and youth programs as appropriate.
* Ensure compliance with OHSAA, district policies, and league rules and regulations.
* Communicate effectively with players, parents, staff, and administration.
* Maintain accurate records, including attendance, eligibility, and equipment inventories.
* Supervise student-athletes before, during, and after practices and contests.
Qualifications
* Demonstrated knowledge of soccer fundamentals, strategies, and rules.
* Previous coaching experience at the high school or competitive club level preferred.
* Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
* Ability to positively motivate and mentor student-athletes.
* Commitment to maintaining high standards of professionalism and ethics.
Required Certifications (the district will guide you through these steps)
* Valid Ohio Pupil Activity Permit
* Completion of all OHSAA-required coaching certifications
* Current CPR/AED and First Aid certification
* BCI and FBI background checks
Compensation
* Supplemental coaching stipend per the Ross Local School District negotiated agreement.
