Job Description - Driver License Examiner 2 (Lead Worker) (260004F7)
Compensation: $24.16 per hour.
Schedule:
Full-time; work hours:
Tuesday – Friday 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. and Saturday 8:00 a.m. – 2:30 p.m.

What You'll Do- Act as lead worker over driver license examiners & clerical employees at one or multiple examining stations and directs all routine operations during business hours.
- Lead lower‑level driver examiners & clerical personnel in daily duties of the examination station; provide training & guidance to new examiners & clerks.
- Assist examiners with understanding test processes to properly communicate test results and reasoning for grading.
- Complete training & observation reports for staff as requested.
- Check appointment schedules to ensure fairness and maximum utilization.
- Resolve disputes between applicants, the public, and station employees.
- Option 1:
Formal education in arithmetic including fractions, decimals & percentages, and reading, writing & speaking English; 24 months training or experience in laws & signs applicable for motorized vehicle operation and Bureau of Motor Vehicles rules, policies & procedures for testing and licensing; valid Ohio Class D driver license. - Option 2: 24 months experience as Driver License Examiner 1; valid Ohio Class D driver license.

Training and development: maintain valid Ohio Class D driver license and successfully complete agency driving training before end of probationary period.
Unusual working conditions: required to ride in automobiles with inexperienced drivers, exposure to dust, dirt, exhaust fumes, weather conditions when working outside, travel between facilities, and must provide own transportation.
Background check: BCI/FBI fingerprint, background check, polygraph may be required; drug test or comparative analysis may be required.
Position is safety sensitive & is subject to random drug & alcohol testing per DPS 501.24.
