Logistics Team Leader

Responsibilities

• Maintains a safe working environment by complying with all safety and environmental policies.
• Advocates for and promotes a safe work environment by reporting Near Misses and other hazards, wearing required PPE and encouraging others to do the same.
• Leads daily start‑up meetings to communicate goals and announcements.
• Ensures individual and team output/production meets goals and objectives.
• Ensures team operates within company policies and procedures.
• Coordinates manpower to cover absences such as vacations.
• Interprets specifications and job orders for Material Handlers and assigns duties.
• Promotes teamwork and open, effective communication.
• Ensures development of Material Handlers through cross‑training and performance monitoring.
• Recognizes good performance and takes corrective action when needed.
• Embraces continuous improvement through effective leadership, integrity and performance.
• Performs as a superior role model for all employees (e.g., attendance).
• Ensures implementation of 6S throughout the warehouse.
• Assists in maintaining the Warehouse Management System and the SAP WM module.
• Operates forklifts as needed, replenishing items, moving pallets, and assisting in loading/unloading trucks.
• Works closely with the Warehouse Supervisor to eliminate waste and increase efficiencies.
• Maintains and improves inventory integrity.
• Is flexible to work overtime and occasional Saturdays when needed.
• Is approachable, professional, and courteous, answering questions and assisting in problem solving.
• Performs all other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

• Demonstrated experience leading and motivating teams under high volumes of work and customer demands, providing direction, coaching, and effective feedback.
• Experience working in a warehouse environment safely operating material‑handling equipment (e.g., forklift, tuggers, dock stockers).
• Experience operating stand‑up forklifts.
• Experience with large ERP systems, preferably SAP WM.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Strong customer focus, strong work ethic, and willingness to do what is needed without shortcuts.
• Ability to lift up to 40 lbs. with or without reasonable accommodation.
• Ability to work at a height of up to 25 feet with provided safety equipment and training.
• Proven ability to work in a fast‑paced environment with multiple priorities and tasks.
• Highly organized, able to work independently and as part of a team.
• Exhibits integrity through fair and ethical behavior and maintains accountability for performance.
• Strong attention to detail and well‑developed organizational and communication skills.

High School Diploma or G.E.D required.
