Overview of Accounts Payable & Accounting Clerk
The Accounting and Budget Services department at Purdue University Northwest is seeking an Accounts Payable & Accounting Clerk whowill be responsible for auditing and processing invoices andreimbursements for payment. This position will need to travel between locations for Inventory
- Hammond, Westville, and Gabislocations.
This position has the flexibility to work in a hybrid environment which allows you to work both on campus and remotely ( 3 days remote and 2 days on campus - subject to change) .
Pay range:- $16.11 - $17.33 and is dependent upon experience.

- Friday (Days)
- Audit and entry of DIVs and credit memos in SAP.
- Contact person for accounts payable questions for campus and external customers. New/change vendor requests in Payment Works.
- Knowledge of policy and procedures involved with Accounts Payable payments.
- International Wire confirmations.
- Train staff, internal & external customers on DIV policies and procedures – Semester and as needed basis.
- Oversee Property Accounting.
- Manage the university's fixed asset and inventory control process.
- Record new assets, track existing assets (transfers and disposal) and assist with the coordination of the bi-annual physical inventory verification.
- Travel between campus locations may be required.
- Train staff on Property Management process and procedures.

Education of Accounts Payable & Accounting Clerk- Requires a high school diploma/GED
- One year of Accounts Payable experience, including data entryand electronic invoice reconciliation, auditing and researchingpayments
- Experience in SAP and University setting preferred.
- A firm understanding of basic accounting principles
- Understanding of accounts payable
- Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Word
- Ability to handle multiple tasks and projects with varyingdeadlines
- Attention to detail
- Ability to communicate University policies and procedures
- Focus on quality customer service
- Ability to work well with internal and external customers
- Excellent verbal and written skills
- Understanding of financial information and accountingentries
- As business needs arise, employee may be required to travel between campuses and/or be reassigned to a different campus location.
