• Assist head coach in the planning, organizing, and coaching of the track and field/cross country programs
• Provide technical instruction in one or more areas (sprints, jumps, throws, pole vault or distance)
• Assist the head coach with recruiting, academic oversight, fundraising, social media and coordinating camps and coaching clinics
• Maintain knowledge of NCAA and conference rules and regulations to ensure compliance
• Assist with game management
• Assist with Fitness Center coverage
• Serve as van driver transporting teams to and from away games
• Perform other duties as assigned
• This position offers a flexible work schedule but requires a strong on‑campus presence

• Bachelor’s degree
• Bachelor’s degree in sports management, physical education, education, fitness or a related program is preferred

• Two years of track and field coaching experience required at the professional or college level
• Experience coaching specific event groups: sprints, hurdles, pole vault, jumping, throwing or distance
• Experience coaching sprints/hurdles is preferred

• Strong team‑building/management skills
• Ability to work across academic and administrative departments in a cooperative manner
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to coordinate collaborative efforts
• Demonstrated experience in program development, management, and leadership
• Ability to interact with members of the public and media
• Ability to supervise temporary staff
• Understanding of student‑athletes’ commitment to academics
• Ability to lift and carry up to 10 lbs. frequently, and up to 20 lbs. occasionally
• Knowledge of NCAA and conference rules and regulations to ensure compliance
• Valid driver’s license
• Must be able to use personal vehicle to drive on behalf of the university
• Must meet minimum driver qualifications as defined by the Use of Vehicles for University Business Policy

This position is dependent upon continued grant funding.
