Job SummaryThe Department of English and World Languages at Purdue University Northwest (Hammond and Westville, Indiana) anticipates hiring a full‑time Visiting Instructor to teach professional writing courses for the academic year. This could include technical writing, business writing, and writing and communication for engineers.
Candidates must have completed an MA in English (or another relevant field) plus a minimum of two years’ experience teaching writing at the college level. Experience teaching professional writing is required. Preference will be given to candidates who demonstrate excellence in teaching writing at the college level.
Start date is August 2026. Responsibilities include teaching five classes per semester. Salary is competitive with similar positions at other regional institutions and includes benefits. Semester and year‑long positions are available. Renewal of the position is possible and contingent on enrollment and successful performance reviews.
