The teacher will plan, carry out, evaluate, and supervise instructional activities in the subject area for groups and individual students, and advise students in community internships, work experience, and academic activities.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities- Develop curriculum to meet developmental goals and instructional activities.
- Use procedures to post syllabus, projects/lessons, and grades to the server accessible to students, parents, and the community.
- Maintain a classroom environment consistent with established codes of conduct and conducive to positive learning.
- Use rubric‑based authentic assessment methods to evaluate student progress and adapt individual programs to meet student needs.
- Exercise open and respectful communication with families, co‑workers, supervisors, and other school staff.
- Measure progress and accomplishments of students toward their academic achievements on a regular basis and provide progress reports as required.
- Communicate electronically with students, parents, and other staff members concerning student academic progress, attendance, and behavior.
- Attend conferences and workshops to further advance professional development.
- Work cooperatively with other personnel to improve instructional programs and the overall operation of the school.
- Provide a safe, thriving, and respectful environment for all students in the classroom and on the school campus.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Physical demands: regularly required to sit, use hands, talk or hear, stand, walk, reach, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; lift and/or move up to 20 pounds frequently, occasionally up to 50 pounds; requires close vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
Requirements- Bachelor's degree from an accredited university.
- Must hold a valid Indiana State Teacher's License or be eligible for a license for a corresponding age/grade level.
- Minimum of 2 years of teaching experience.
- Highly developed oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to build professional relationships with families and students.
- Experience developing and implementing curriculum.
- Physical ability to handle frequent sitting, stooping, bending, pushing, pulling, and moving throughout the room.
- Proven ability to maintain a safe and studious classroom environment.
- Demonstrated ability to develop and implement age‑appropriate curriculum.
