ELL Teacher Position
The Hammond Academy of Science and Technology is looking for an enthusiastic and dedicated ELL Teacher to join our team for the 2026-27 school year. The successful candidate will be responsible for creating engaging lesson plans, delivering instruction to our EL students, assessing student performance, and providing feedback to students and parents. The ideal candidate will have a passion for teaching and a commitment to helping students reach their full potential.
The Teacher must be able to create a safe and supportive learning environment and demonstrate excellent communication skills. The school currently enrolls approximately 600 students in grades 6-12. The Academy serves a diverse population of students. The curriculum is project-based, reflecting the complexity of the real world. Instructional technology is infused throughout daily instruction and integrated into the curriculum and instructional methodologies.
Partnerships with local organizations open the learning environment to the outside world.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement lesson plans for students.
- Provide instruction to students in a variety of subjects.
- Evaluate student performance and provide feedback.
- Maintain a safe and orderly classroom environment.
- Communicate with parents about student progress.
- Participate in professional development activities.
Job Type: Full-time Salary:
New teachers start at $49,000 per year
