Job Summary
School Psychologist at Granville Correctional Institution in Butner, North Carolina. Full‑time position focused on providing psychological and educational support to students age 22 and under in an adult correctional setting.
Key Responsibilities- Collaborate with district and school staff to provide targeted support for struggling students through intervention systems and IEP processes.
- Deliver direct and indirect services, including universal screenings, data‑based problem‑solving, intervention development, progress monitoring, and data interpretation.
- Consult with school staff, families (as appropriate), community partners, and agencies regarding students’ cognitive, academic, social, and behavioral needs, using data to guide decisions and support planning.
- Organize and deliver counseling, support, transition services, and related educational programming for students of all ages in a medium‑custody male correctional facility.
- Assist the School Principal in supporting the school’s vision and goals, creating a flexible, supportive learning environment that promotes each student’s growth.
- Sixth‑Year Advanced degree or above in School Psychology from an appropriately accredited college.
- Current (non‑expired) North Carolina Professional Educator’s License (Class Code S or
D) with certification in School Psychology, or eligibility to obtain an Emergency or Residency teaching license or provisional certification. - Experience administering relevant assessments and providing data‑driven evaluations and interventions.
- Strong oral and written communication skills and ability to establish effective working relationships with school staff, students, parents, mental health professionals, and external agencies.
- Proficiency in technology‑based productivity applications, software programs, and student information systems including Microsoft Office Suite.
$63,276 to $86,952 (based on NCDPI Salary Schedule and years of experience).
