Secondary Computer Science Teacher (Grades 6–12)

The Hammond Academy of Science and Technology is seeking candidates for a Secondary Computer Science (6‑12) position for the 2026‑27 school year. The school currently enrolls approximately 600 students in grades 6‑12 and serves a diverse population. The curriculum is project‑based, reflects the complexity of the real world, and is infused with instructional technology.

Candidates must be certified teachers in the State of Indiana or hold appropriate out‑of‑state certificates that qualify for transfer to Indiana. Experience with project‑based learning is preferable but not required.

Salary and Benefits: A regionally competitive salary starting at $49,000 with excellent employment benefits based on qualifications and employment history.

• Respond to a wide range of inquiries from students, parents, and guardians regarding the instructional program and student progress.
• Create and support a culture that empowers students.
• Encourage a culture of inclusiveness and support for all children.

• Indiana teaching license for appropriate grade/subject.

• Bachelor’s degree or higher.

• Teaching: 1 year (preferred).
