Overview of Residential Learning Coordinator

The Residential Learning Coordinator (RLC) is responsible for creating and supporting a combined community of 950 on campusresidents as well as supervise/aid in the growth and development ofstudent staff members. The RLC will oversee the daily operations ofa residence hall community in conjunction with the Assistant Director for Residential Education and participate in a housingon-call duty rotation. Experience in higher education is preferred.

Two years of professional or graduate experience managing collegehousing or related areas is preferred.

Pay:
  • $42,000 - $44,000
Schedule:
  • Typical 8am – 5pm with occasional evening work and weekends;will flex work schedule to accommodate

Education of Residential Learning Coordinator
  • Bachelor’s degree required
Experience of Residential Learning Coordinator
  • 1-2 years of experience in Housing/Student Affairs/Counselingas well as have experience in emergency response
  • Preferred previous experience living in a college housingenvironment and obtained supervisory experience (student staffpreferred). Two years of Graduate school experience will count asone-year full time experience.
Core Competencies Residential Learning Coordinator
  • Ability to independently manage a variety of projects with frequent interruptions and shifting priorities, to organize acontinuous flow of work in a timely manner and meet mandatorydeadlines
  • Excellent record keeping and organizational skills with abilityto pay strict attention to detail. This position requiresindependent decision-making abilities, outstanding organizational skills, and excellent judgment, a high level of self-motivation and accountability
  • Must exhibit flexibility, adaptability, and willingness to contribute to the successful achievement of personal, unit and department goals with a continuous improvement mindset
  • Must have the ability to work with diverse groups of individuals as well as be able to show care and empathy. Counselingskills are a must for working in this environment
  • Experience working with Star Rez (or similar system), Maxient,and Microsoft Office software preferred
  • Must have knowledge about student development, including experience with student conduct
  • Supervisory experience in leading a team of undergraduate students preferred
