Salary: Competitive salary commensurate with experience

Days: Monday - Friday

Hours: 8:00 am - 6:00 pm

Duties:

Manage Accounting and Cards team to maximize productivity, efficiency and the potential of the team including assist in hiring, directing job assignments, monitoring team performance, coaching, counseling, training, assuring compliance with regulatory requirements and organizational mission.

Oversee and manage accounting functions to include AP, AR, cash flow, financial reporting and recordkeeping, GL, ACH, Share Draft, Remote Deposit and Bill Pay processing.

  • Develop, assess, and complete monthly department reports.
  • Develop, perform, and oversee various internal audit procedures (cash counts, teller drawer audits, review of team accounts, wire transfers, etc.).
  • Manage and support job functions outlined in the Electronic Funds Processer, Accountant and Electronic Account Clerk job descriptions.
  • Develop, implement, and evaluate procedures for the Accounting and Cards department. Ensure that procedures reflect current regulations and are communicated to and implemented by team.
  • Ensure compliance with rules and regulations governing plastic cards.
  • Manage plastic card stock and monitor plastic card fraud reports and communicate issues and changes with the team.
  • Review and evaluate credit/debit/ATM card applications and orders based on credit union policies.
  • Review and serve as advisor for authorizations that exceed established limits.
  • Review credit limit increases, name changes and procedures as they relate to card maintenance.
  • Responsible to validate general ledger reconciliation, and Visa billings reconciliation and report any concerns to the CEO.
  • Responsible for cash management tracking and reporting.
  • Maintain a highly motivated, well ? trained team, evaluating the performance of the team on a regular basis. Resolve team questions or conflicts.
  • Recommend and implement processes to streamline credit union accounting and card procedures.
  • Ensure Branch location’s teller cash totals, vault totals and miscellaneous items on a daily basis have been validated.
  • Maintain a working knowledge of various accounting and vendor software programs.
  • Research and adjust all open items, cash imbalances and variances.
  • Ensure team is answering telephone inquiries and processing financial transactions in a courteous and efficient manner, cross-selling other credit union services and participating in weekly goal requirements.
  • Send/Receive Member Wires, Investment Wires and Western Union Wires.
  • Ensure accounting and card team are appropriately crossed trained and duties are properly segregated.
  • Hold periodic team meetings. Identify and recommend to leadership areas for improvement, changes in procedures, new developments, or changes in services and products. Keep team up to date on trends and general credit union information.
  • Support accounting and card operations as needed including providing back up duties for Accounting Clerk, Electronic Funds, and Accountant positions.
  • Conduct special accounting studies, analyses, and special projects as requested by management.
  • Serve as liaison with regulatory agency examiners and auditors.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
  • Advanced degree in Accounting and/or Finance
  • 2+ years in accounting related field
  • 1-2 years general banking experience
  • 1-2 years management experience
  • Successful record in creating a sales culture, achieving established goals and coaching team to improve results
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills
  • High attention to detail to ensure accuracy
  • Working knowledge of MS Windows and Office products
