Job Title: Christian Mental Health Counselor

Job Summary:
We are seeking a compassionate and qualified Christian Mental Health Counselor to provide professional mental health support rooted in Christian values and Biblical principles. The ideal candidate will be responsible for guiding individuals, couples, and families through emotional, psychological, and spiritual challenges while integrating faith-based approaches into evidence-based clinical practices.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide individual, couples, and group counseling sessions with a Christian and mental health perspective.
- Assess clients’ mental health needs, develop treatment plans, and monitor progress toward therapeutic goals.
- Integrate Christian theology with psychological principles in therapeutic work, using prayer and Scripture as appropriate.
- Maintain accurate, timely, and confidential clinical documentation in accordance with legal and ethical standards.
- Refer clients to medical, psychiatric, or community resources when necessary.
- Collaborate with pastoral staff, medical professionals, and other counselors as part of a holistic care team.
- Stay informed on the latest mental health practices and Christian counseling techniques through continuing education.
- Uphold ethical standards and ensure compliance with all professional and licensing requirements.
Qualifications:
- Master’s degree or higher in Counseling, Psychology, Social Work, or a related field.
- Licensed or license-eligible (LPC, LMFT, LCSW, LCPC, LMHC, or equivalent) in Indiana and/or Illinois.
- Demonstrated commitment to Christian faith and values.
- Strong understanding of Scripture and ability to incorporate Biblical wisdom into counseling.
- Minimum of 2 years clinical experience preferred.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Certification or training in Christian counseling (e.g., AACC, NCCA).
- Experience working in church-based or faith-centered environments.
- Familiarity with trauma-informed care, addiction counseling, or marriage/family therapy.
Working Conditions:
- Office setting and/or remote.
- Evening and/or weekend hours may be required to accommodate client needs.
- Adheres to confidentiality laws and Christian ethical guidelines.
Salary and Benefits:
- Competitive salary based on experience and licensure.
Job Type: Contract
Pay: $25.00 - $50.00 per hour
Expected hours: 1 – 25 per week
