Operational Technology Specialist
Full Time Perm
Way of Work: Hybrid - 3 days in-office
Salary: $69, USD Annual plus 8% annual bonus
Location: Hammond, IN, or Merrillville, IN
Operational Technology Specialists perform ongoing maintenance and enhancements to EMS applications, databases, and displays, utilizing change‑management methodology and SCADA modeling standards. The position will complete and maintain overall application documentation day‑to‑day application changes. Formulate and define scope and objectives for assigned projects, by working with end‑users to understand business requirements.
Operational Technology Specialists work in one of the following disciplines:
- Energy Management System Support: Model SCADA, ICCP, and Calculations
- Operations Software and Application Development: responsibilities include development and enhancement of applications that support the Operational Technology electric environment.
- Network and Security Support: responsibilities include the design, development and implementation of network operations, network architecture, and network security solutions and monitoring capabilities.
- Infrastructure Support: responsibilities include Server, Desktop, VMware, Citrix, and SAN administration, Directory server management
Your responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:
- Performs all required operational maintenance and troubleshooting of supported systems
- Works with vendors, application developers, database administrators, corporate IT, and other technology groups to resolve problems
- Assists in the design and development of system implementations
- Evaluates and tests software changes and updates supplied by vendors, prior to installation
- Maintains appropriate change management documentation for all hardware and software modifications
- Provides assistance related to the installation, operation, and maintenance of computer software application programs
- Typically the contact person who would receive and handle support tickets and resolve support‑related issues
- Provides hands‑on technical maintenance or walks users through troubleshooting and resolution process by phone or through electronic platforms such as real‑time chat
- Tracks support records and analyzes data to identify patterns of common issues
You must possess the below minimum qualifications to be initially considered for this position. Preferred qualifications are in addition to the minimum requirements and are considered a plus factor in identifying top candidates.
Experience listed below could be obtained through a combination of school work, classes, research, or any relevant previous job or internship experiences.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree or equivalent work experience
- 1+ years of experience with IT Systems support such as help desk, infrastructure support, application support, or related duties
- Experience with MS Office Suite
Preferred Qualifications
- Familiarity with SQL and Java
- Oracle Administrator
- SQL Server Administrator
- Related experience in the utility industry
