- 1st week: 7:00 am – 3:15 pm
- 2nd week: 3:00 pm – 11:15
- 3rd week: 11:00 pm – 7:15 am
Base Pay Rate: $39.49, increasing to $44.14 after completion of training/probationary periods. Pay is based on weekly pay periods.

Our Unilever Hammond, IN facility is the home of the Dove Beauty Bar, one of Unilever’s biggest brands and the largest soap factory within the U.S. The facility produces a billion bars in one year. The Maintenance – Packaging Machinist will, under minimal direction, safely perform and guide the coordination and repair, replacement, installation, inspection, enhancement, optimization, testing and troubleshooting of all pack floor facilities, including high‑speed packaging equipment such as cartoners, case packers, etc.
Responsibilities- Perform preventive maintenance routines, including accurate, complete, and timely documentation.
- Troubleshoot equipment for repairs/replacements with documentation.
- Use hand/power tools to machine, manufacture or modify and/or repair parts from drawings or samples.
- Cooperate with managers, operators, contractors, vendors, and clients to ensure timely and accurate completion of services.
- Select and request parts and materials for projects/equipment repair following approved procedures.
- Communicate effectively by participating in shift handovers, responding to questions, and seeking feedback.
- Perform tasks in a manner that ensures personal and others’ safety and equipment safety.
- Operate forklift, highlift, etc., as required.
- Work and participate in a team environment.
- Inspect used parts for dimensional changes using calipers, micrometers, and other measuring instruments.
- Participate or lead in project initiatives and cross‑functional teams as approved.
- Stay up to date on emerging technologies and techniques related to area(s) of expertise.
- Schedule and plan daily activities and project initiatives.
- Perform/follow quality practices (SPC, TQM, GMP, etc.).
- Train others, participate in training design, and initiate efforts to develop or modify training programs.
- Maintain and clean work area, job site, tools, and equipment.
- Share job‑related knowledge and information with management and peers.
- Complete other duties as assigned.
- High school diploma or GED.
- Minimum 2+ years’ experience in a similar role.
- Effective troubleshooting skills.
