Deli Clerk

Strack & Van Til is seeking a friendly Deli Clerk to provide exceptional service in our busy deli department. In this customer-facing role, you will slice meats and cheeses to order, prepare salads and hot foods, maintain well-stocked, attractive displays, and ensure accurate labeling and pricing. You'll follow all food safety and sanitation standards, operate deli equipment safely, and keep work areas clean and organized.

Working in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment, you'll assist customers with product selections, handle cash register transactions as needed, and support overall store operations and community-focused service.

Responsibilities

• Provide friendly, prompt customer service at the deli counter
• Slice meats and cheeses to order using deli equipment
• Prepare deli items such as salads, sides, and hot foods
• Maintain stocked, attractive, and properly rotated deli cases
• Follow all food safety, sanitation, and quality standards
• Accurately label, price, and package deli products
• Clean and sanitize equipment, tools, and work areas
• Assist with inventory, product rotation, and waste reduction
• Handle basic cashier or POS transactions as needed
• Work collaboratively with store team to support operations
