Monday – Friday:
First Shift.

Airgas is hiring a Local Delivery Driver (CDL

B) in Hammond, IN. The driver will operate a Class B Hazmat vehicle to deliver compressed and liquid gas cylinders and hard goods along designated routes, collect empty cylinders, record transactions, handle loading/unloading, conduct pre/post‑trip vehicle checks, and maintain a professional appearance and vehicle condition. The hourly rate is $30.65.

• Operate a Class B Hazmat vehicle, delivering compressed and liquid gas cylinders and hard goods along designated routes.
• Collect empty cylinders from customers.
• Record transactions and obtain signatures.
• Address customer inquiries, ensuring satisfaction.
• Handle loading and unloading.
• Conduct pre‑ and post‑trip vehicle checks, noting issues and ensuring safety compliance.
• Present a professional appearance and upkeep the vehicle’s condition.

• Must be at least 21 years of age.
• Must have a valid Class B CDL license.
• Must have a HAZMAT endorsement.
• Successful completion of Airgas Background and Motor Vehicle Check.
• DOT Clearinghouse verification from previous employers is required.
• Ability to routinely lift 25–75 lbs., and occasionally lift 76–greater than 100 lbs. with the use of equipment.
• Willingness to work outdoors in changing temperatures.
• Ability to maintain a drug‑free workplace.
• Adherence to safety regulations and policies.

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Forklift experience.
• Touch freight delivery experience.
