Be part of something exciting at Porter Pipe & Supply! This position is based in Hammond, IN, where you will join a thriving team. As the Transfer Truck Driver, you’ll play a key role in delivering ridiculously good customer service by ensuring timely, safe, and efficient deliveries.
Our Transfer Truck Drivers are required to have prior truck driving experience, including a Class A CDL and flatbed hauling experience.

What You’ll Bring :- DOT Valid Medical Card or ability to obtain one prior to employment.
- High school diploma or GED.
- One year of prior truck driving experience preferred.
- Availability to work a schedule starting at 3:00 PM, extending into the evening Monday – Friday.
- Ability to drive a stick shift truck.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Skilled at building a rapport with both internal and external customers.
- Positive attitude with the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
- Solid mathematical aptitude.
- Capable of prioritizing multiple responsibilities and managing time effectively.
- Must be able to communicate in English regarding the essential functions of the position.
- Safely and efficiently operate a variety of trucks (straight boom truck, semi-tractor trailer).
- Complete pre-trip and post-trip inspections and document any anomalies.
- Follow delivery/pickup instructions from the Dispatch department.
- Unload cargo at customer destinations.
- Keep record of materials and products transported.
- Promptly report all incidents/accidents.
- Maintain daily and monthly trip logs according to local, state, and federal regulations.
- Adhere to all Company safety rules, standards, and guidelines.
- Assist with warehouse duties as needed.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
