Senior Accountant – Hammond, LA
Inner Parish Security Corporation (IPSC) is seeking a full-time Senior Accountant to join our corporate office in Hammond, LA. We are looking for an experienced, detail-oriented accounting professional to support the Company's financial operations, maintain accurate financial records, assist with month-end and year-end close, provide financial analysis, and help ensure compliance with accounting policies and procedures.

The Senior Accountant will support accounting operations, financial reporting, and internal controls.
Responsibilities include:
- Prepare and review monthly journal entries and general ledger reconciliations.
- Assist with month-end and year-end closing activities.
- Analyze financial results, variances, and trends.
- Maintain accurate general ledger accounts and supporting schedules.
- Reconcile bank accounts, prepaid expenses, accruals, fixed assets, and other balance sheet accounts.
- Support accounts receivable, accounts payable, and cash management processes as needed.
- Monitor customer contract terms and support accurate accounting and billing practices.
- Assist with internal financial reports and management reporting.
- Support annual audits, tax preparation, and compliance activities.
- Assist with internal controls and accounting procedures.
- Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes and efficiency.
- Work with department managers and operational leadership to support business objectives.
- Provide guidance to accounting staff and assist with training.
- Complete special projects, reporting, and other accounting duties as assigned.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- 3–5 years of progressive accounting experience.
- Strong understanding of U.S. GAAP and accounting principles.
- Experience with general ledger accounting, reconciliations, financial reporting, and month-end close.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, formulas, and financial analysis.
- Experience with ERP and accounting software preferred.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise professional judgment.
- CPA, CPA candidate, or equivalent professional certification.
- Experience with multi-location or service-based organizations.
- Experience with large customer accounts and contract billing.
- Familiarity with revenue recognition concepts.
