Job Summary /PurposeThe Business Analyst reports to the Sr. Manager, Program Management, Supply Chain Operations, and often works closely with procurement and supply chain and business unit team members and leaders to help drive continual improvements and develop strategies to enhance efficiency and improve performance. Performance data must be transparent, deliver insight and underpin forward looking business decisions so that Entergy can grow a world class energy business.
To support this goal the position will be responsible to process timely, relevant, and accurate data along with developing and implementing supply chain performance planning, measurement, and management framework.
- At all times put safety first, actively promote safety in both the office environment and on-site/off-site visits at Entergy or supplier sites.
- Analytics
- Data harvesting, decipher and publish Supply Chain information and reporting for inclusion in Supply Chain and business communications.
- Extract and aggregate data sets from various sources, including both databases and flat files.
- Apply data analytics practices and the right tools (e.g. Power BI).
- Independently analyze, map and evaluate business process to identify areas for improvement.
- Gather requirements and create analytics into dashboard and reports.
- Present data and information in business terms, with a compelling final product that tells a story to management.
- Review and analyze data sources, classifications, and methodologies regularly to ensure data integrity from all relevant data sources.
- Identify statistically significant patterns, correlations, and compelling questions raised by such analysis.
- Effectively manage relationships and can create rapport with others. Anticipate customer/stakeholder needs and accept ownership.
Analyst I
- 1-2 years technical, systems and/or systems analytical experience
- Bachelor’s degree in a technical or business-related field required or equivalent work experience.
- Preferred: professionally supply chain/procurement certification, Or equivalent related experience
- 2-4 years technical, systems, and/or systems analytical experience.
- Bachelor’s degree in a technical or business-related field required or equivalent work experience.
- Preferred: professionally supply chain/procurement certification, Or equivalent related experience
- Desired knowledge, skills and abilities required of the position
- Experience with analytical tools such as Excel and Power BI
- Mastery in gathering requirements, formulate metrics and convert data analysis into tangible reporting products.
- Mastery in report design, data visualization and presentation techniques.
- Experience in application of data management, control and data mining applications and systems.
- Deep level proficiency at providing data driven insights and key recommendations on findings.
- Deep proficiency at sharing key insights with department staff and analytics team to promote continuous learning.
- Partners with executives to define key findings and establish actions plans.
- Has knowledge and understanding of existing and evolving Supply Chain systems.
- Identifies the need for new systems and offers strategic input on the utilization of current systems.
- Deep expertise to advise on the application of project management principles to ensure systematic, thorough completion of assignments, identifying critical pathways and risks to delivery.
- Deep expertise leading the development of data/information analyses to assist the business in decision making; provide business insights and data trends through detailed reports.
- Ability to communicate autonomously with Supply Chain stakeholders, including executive level, delivering key messages concisely, supported by relevant data; influencing skills to develop best outcomes.
- Continually seeks sources of business intelligence on company imperatives, industry trends and emerging capabilities that will drive a world-class supply chain.
- Deep proficiency at understanding and recognizing opportunities for change and creating strategies. Leads organization through the preparation and execution. Is at the forefront of aligning change with organizational impact.
