Job Summary
The Supervisor of Warehouse Operations has primary responsibility for analyzing, demand execution, and fulfillment to ensure material readiness in meeting project commitments across the designated region. They are responsible for the cost‑efficient utilization of logistic services to ensure timely delivery and receipt of materials meeting project deadlines. The role oversees supply chain experts to manage critical supply chain and logistics functions, including material planning, inventory control, outsourcing, vendor selection, project management, and contract management.
It creates integrated processes among internal functions such as Operations, Purchasing, Inventory Management, Logistics, and outside suppliers, focuses resources on continuous improvement of material movement across the region, and establishes key performance metrics and benchmarks to regularly measure actual performance against goals.
Serve as the safety leader for the team, ensuring safety remains the top priority. Leverage critical safety tools, including Close Call/Good Catch reporting, field observations, coaching, and field visits, to drive adherence to safety standards and promote positive safety behaviors. Facilitate monthly safety meetings with direct reports, effectively communicate key topics from the Safety Advisory Board, and oversee the execution of critical safety activities such as site safety, housekeeping, required training, and field audits.
Provide recommendations to enhance the safety manual policy and guarantee alignment with safety protocols, collaborating cross‑functionally to achieve established safety metrics and targets.
Analyze material trends, seasonality, and execute demand plans to ensure material readiness for major projects. Align purchasing, inventory, labor, and logistics to ensure materials are available at the right time, quantity, and location. Optimize inventory to meet material needs, coordinate with warehouses, procurement, suppliers, and transportation services for cost‑efficient utilization, and mitigate material risk by selecting appropriate transportation services to meet project commitments.
Inventory& Warehouse Management
Prioritize resources and reliably meet project deadlines, providing support to Distribution/Transmission/Generation stakeholders. Optimize inventory levels and ensure material availability; implement strategies such as cycle counting, ABC analysis, and just‑in‑time principles. Ensure capacity planning is met by matching material supply to demand forecasts and maintain effective inventory control procedures.
Project ManagementCoordinate with project managers and stakeholders to forecast materials, execute demand plans, and mitigate supply chain disruptions. Utilize ERP systems and other tools to track consumption, monitor progress, and generate reports. Implement comprehensive materials management strategies to support cross‑functional projects within the organization.
Budget and Cost PrudencyManage the overall operations budget and associated daily costs. Provide analytical support in budget development, oversee contract labor, and ensure strict adherence to approved budgets while managing departmental functions.
Customer ServiceEngage stakeholders to forecast demand, analyze trends, and support material readiness. Partner across multiple levels with Power Delivery, Capital Project, and Generation leadership to meet critical project needs. Resolve complex transportation issues and drive expense reductions with transparent performance metrics.
Incident ResponseLead storm response performance, planning, and logistics to support restoration efforts. Direct material readiness sites and personnel during storm events, coordinating with Distribution Centers, Logistics, and vendors to meet critical material needs efficiently.
