Responsibilities- Train on 1st shift for several months before moving to 2nd shift.
- Assist operators on all presses including setup, operation, cleanup, and recommending improvements.
- Set‑up slotting, feed, and die cut sections on the machine accurately in accordance with proper setup techniques.
- Monitor board quality, including loose liner, warp, dimensions, caliper, and other defects; report problems and sort as needed.
- Maintain pace set by the machine operator.
- Cross‑train on other machines as necessary.
- Progress to operator as appropriate regardless of shift.
- Complete necessary reports accurately and on time.
- Turn in maintenance work orders to supervision for needed repairs and be proactive in equipment maintenance.
- Comply with all company policies and procedures, including safety and housekeeping.
- Help operators adhere to the production schedule and recommend optimizations to meet cost, quality, and service goals; report unusual scheduling issues to supervisor.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by management.
- High school diploma or GED (required).
- Strong desire to learn and grow in a state‑of‑the‑art, fast‑paced environment.
- Prior work experience in the corrugated industry (preferred).
- Six months’ experience as a Flexo or Die Cut Helper (preferred).
- Six months’ experience in the Press and Finishing Departments (preferred).
- Able to read and follow instructions on factory masters.
- Proficient in reading a tape measure with speed and accuracy; able to calculate percentages, measurements, volume, and rate; able to apply high‑school math concepts.
- Ability to apply common sense reasoning to carry out instructions, deal with standardized problems, and handle concrete variables.
- Knowledge of equipment design, product layouts, production specifications, product quality specifications, and quality standards.
- May need to maintain a current Lift Truck Operator License.
- Regularly stand, walk, talk, or hear; use hands for handling and reach; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; occasionally sit.
- Regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
- Requires close, distance, color, peripheral, and depth vision; ability to adjust focus.
- Exposure to moving mechanical parts, wet/humid conditions, high places, fumes, airborne particles, vibration, and loud noise.
