City of Hammond is seeking a Heavy Equipment Mechanic to perform skilled repair and maintenance on light and heavy gasoline and diesel-driven equipment. You will work under the Fleet Manager, applying journeyman-level skills to diagnose defects, overhaul engines, brakes, and hydraulic systems, and repair larger machinery on site.
Required qualifications include a high school diploma or equivalent, four years as a journeyman automotive mechanic, and ASE certification with updates in Engine
