Position Description US FUSION & Specialty Construction General Description

Work under Sr. Technicians and upper management to perform required work task in relation to pipe and liner fusion. Performs general manual labor tasks including loading, unloading, lifting, and moving materials. Assists a variety of functions with manual labor tasks as needed. May require a high school diploma or its equivalent with 0-2 years of experience in the field or in a related area.

Has knowledge of commonly-used concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular field. Relies on instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform the functions of the job. Works under immediate supervision. Primary job functions do not typically require exercising independent judgment. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager.

• Learn and become proficient in use of all necessary tools to complete job task
• Operate all fusion equipment
• Loading/unloading, lifting and moving of materials on site.
• Responsible for good housekeeping practices on jobsite and in the shop.
• Adheres to all applicable safety standards

• Cross-train with other departments as needed.
• Participates in other duties as assigned by Supervisor.

• High School Diploma.
• Valid Driver’s License.
• Valid TWIC – OSHA card.
• Able to gain access to customer jobsites

• Meets one of the following:
• Proficient at a level 2 of competency (See USF Training Matrix) for two or more fusion machines; from 14 hand machines to T900’s. This includes:
• Detailed knowledge of the fusion process and related quality standards / procedures
• Basic knowledge of the data included in ASME/ASTM as it relates to the fusion process
• Basic knowledge of the properties of PE material
• Knows and understands the fusion machines in a way that enables him/her to ensure the integrity of the machines and all their associated parts / components
• Basic understanding of the materials and methods of installation for PE piping systems, including:
• Hydro Testing
• FMU / Torque Procedures
• Basic understanding of the means / methods of the installation of electrofusion couplers and branch saddles
• Competent at reading project drawings
• Competent at taking measurements
• Competent and experienced at EX welding, wedge welding, and hot air welding methods, including:
• Standard Liner NDE requirements
• Solid understanding of the principles of EX welding

• Displays a strong attention detail pertaining to safety and quality
• Displays a strong commitment to performing all work task with an attitude of integrity and professionalism that is in keeping with company policy and core values
• Effectively able to follow direction and evaluate our safety, quality, and production performance.
• Communicates positively and effectively with both customers and team members
• Able to train other team members in Safety, Quality, and technical ability.
• Strong inclination for problem solving
• Competent at managing daily permits / customer work authorization
• Competent at managing daily jobsite documentation

• Dependable and punctual
• Communication skills
• Able to work nights, weekends and travel as necessary for project completion.
