Senior Project Manager

Job Responsibilities and Accountabilities

• Strong leadership skills
• Lead and consult with field project managers, general contractors (GCs) and owners. Be responsible for nurturing successful relationships to ensure success of projects.
• Manage pre‑construction, pre‑planning and construction project scheduling. Leverage strong relationships with GCs to grow the Batchelor & Kimball business.
• Manage subcontractors to ensure project timelines and budgets.
• Take ownership and accountability for projects under your direction.
• Solve complex problems relating to project schedule and budget as part of the project team.
• Review and approve project budgets (labor, material and subcontractors) to determine resource allocation from start to finish with attention to budgetary limits.
• Negotiate and create subcontractor contracts with external vendors to reach beneficial agreements for the project.
• Manage project finances, including profitability and cash flow.
• Provide indirect leadership to construction crews.
• Be involved in design conflict and resolution for all trades, collaborating with engineers, architects and others to define project specifications.
• Lead strategic planning and the project submittal, RFI and change order process.
• Implement monthly cost reports and accurate cost projections.
• Recognize and resubmit change orders as necessary.
• Approve payment supplier and subcontractor invoices, ensuring compliance with health and safety standards and reporting issues.
• Candidates with strong Bluebeam and Procore skills will receive priority.
• In‑depth understanding of construction procedures and material and project management principles.
• Identify and manage CAD, fabrication and field labor resources required for the project.
• Maintain a safe and clean working environment by enforcing procedures, rules and regulations.

• Direct responsibility for subcontractors.
• Indirect responsibility for B & K and subcontractor field personnel and internal support services.
• Direct responsibility for PEs and/or APMs.

• Strong verbal, written and interpersonal skills.
• Consistent dependability and availability.
• Ability to work in a fast‑paced construction office environment.
• Ability to organize and curate documents related to work orders and personnel.
• Aptitude to learn new systems.
• Mechanical knowledge.
• Project management expertise.
• Train estimating staff on technical aspects of project management.
• Understand company resource production capabilities and implement them in the construction process, e.g., daily coordination with the superintendent.
• Professionally solicit vendors and suppliers during procurement.

• Bachelor’s degree from a four‑year college or university; or 10+ years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Construction Management, Construction Science, Mechanical Engineering, or a similar degree highly preferred.
• Minimum of 4 years leading large multi‑million‑dollar complex construction projects.

The physical demands are associated with working in a typical office environment and occasional field travel.
