Teacher - Special Education-Speech Impaired (Pool Position)
Clayton County Public Schools, Michelle Obama STEM Elementary Academy – Hampton, Georgia.
Job DescriptionKey Responsibilities:
- Evaluates, identifies, and provides services to students who meet eligibility for speech-language impairments (Pre‑K to HS).
- Works collaboratively and communicates with professionals and parents regarding the integration of speech and language goals into classroom and home environments.
- Follows federal, state, and local procedures.
- Identifies speech‑disordered students through evaluation; analyzes communication skills; integrates designated curriculum.
- Participates in or conducts student staffing in order to gather pertinent data used in determining students' needs.
- Schedules students and conducts assigned classes at scheduled times.
- Provides consultative services to teachers, parents, administrators, and allied agencies to integrate speech and language goals into the classroom, other educational programs, and the home environment.
- Evaluates and reports student progress for continuation or termination of services.
- Participates with school administration/coordinators for effective planning, coordination, and implementation of the speech/language pathology program into the total education system.
- Recommends purchase of instructional and therapy materials for language therapeutic classes; assists in maintaining supplies orderly.
- Participates in establishing and maintaining the Center's data collection system and safeguards all records pertaining to individual cases.
- Maintains accurate, complete, and appropriate records, files reports promptly, and demonstrates up‑to‑date knowledge of content.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Master's degree in Speech and Language Pathology from an accredited college or university.
- Georgia Professional Licensure S‑5. CCCs preferred.
- Minimum 3 years teaching experience within the field.
- Prior teaching experience in a K‑12 public school environment preferred.
- SPEECH AND LANGUAGE PATHOLOGY
Position Type: FULL‑TIME. Salary: 2026‑2027 salary scales are not yet available; 2025‑2026 Teacher Salary Scale: 2025‑2026 Teacher Salary Scale.
