Job Description

Key Responsibilities:

  • Evaluates, identifies, and provides services to students who meet eligibility for speech-language impairments (Pre‑K to HS).
  • Works collaboratively and communicates with professionals and parents regarding the integration of speech and language goals into classroom and home environments.
  • Follows federal, state, and local procedures.
  • Identifies speech‑disordered students through evaluation; analyzes communication skills; integrates designated curriculum.
  • Participates in or conducts student staffing in order to gather pertinent data used in determining students' needs.
  • Schedules students and conducts assigned classes at scheduled times.
  • Provides consultative services to teachers, parents, administrators, and allied agencies to integrate speech and language goals into the classroom, other educational programs, and the home environment.
  • Evaluates and reports student progress for continuation or termination of services.
  • Participates with school administration/coordinators for effective planning, coordination, and implementation of the speech/language pathology program into the total education system.
  • Recommends purchase of instructional and therapy materials for language therapeutic classes; assists in maintaining supplies orderly.
  • Participates in establishing and maintaining the Center's data collection system and safeguards all records pertaining to individual cases.
  • Maintains accurate, complete, and appropriate records, files reports promptly, and demonstrates up‑to‑date knowledge of content.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in Speech and Language Pathology from an accredited college or university.
  • Georgia Professional Licensure S‑5. CCCs preferred.
  • Minimum 3 years teaching experience within the field.
  • Prior teaching experience in a K‑12 public school environment preferred.
