Mechanical Designer

Selectek has an immediate need for a mechanical designer that has a strong mechanical background and experience working with Solid Works. This position will design and prepare shop drawings and bills of material related to functionality and assembly of components for high voltage switch products.

• Prepare detail drawings, layouts and sketches of parts and equipment used by the Transmission Switch Product Division for engineering and fabrication purposes.
• Prepare Bills of Material for assemblies and sub‑assemblies.
• Review and process orders for production.
• Make electrical, mechanical and structural calculations associated with drawing preparation.
• Initiate changes as assigned by a Senior Designer or Application Engineer in existing drawings after investigating the technical effects of such changes.

Other duties can include help with:

• Erecting switch products for testing purposes.
• Processing orders, drawings usually associated with Engineering Services.

• 2+ years of mechanical design experience creating drawings using Solid Works.
• Solid Works proficiency.
• Strong mechanical understanding.

• BSME or BSMET in Mechanical Engineering.

Must be able to work in Hampton, GA.

Pay range: $23-$28 per hour.
